The Schooner Alexander Hamilton was built in Gallows Bay, Charlestown by Ralph Harris and local craftsmen just steps from Alexander Hamilton’s birthplace. Launched in 1984, she is a rare re-creation of an 18th-century Caribbean schooner, crafted with traditional methods and materials. After years of chartering in the USVI and surviving multiple hurricanes, she was rescued and restored by Ray Lymington, who returned her to Nevis in 2008. I became her custodian in 2019 and began further restoration with the help of regional boatbuilders. Our goal is to offer authentic sailing experiences while training young islanders in seamanship, maintenance, and hospitality preserving a proud legacy for future generations.
