Simply Magical

Where to start? This was a magical place. We wanted to avoid the commercialization that has occurred on many other Caribbean islands while also enjoying the superior quality and top-notch service of Four Seasons Resort Nevis. They catered to our every need, and our wedding party of 65 couldn’t have been happier. It was something we will never forget.

Our Dream Wedding

When we set out to find a destination wedding location, we zeroed in on Nevis. And when we arrived at The Hermitage, it was as if we had stumbled into a dream. The food, the staff and the service were some of the best I've ever experienced. If you are looking for an authentic, Caribbean vacation or wedding, look no further. This is one of the most special places on earth.

Just Beautiful

My spouse and I had the opportunity to wed on the island of Nevis. Our wedding was beautiful. The food, ambiance, staff, and accommodations at Montpelier Plantation and Beach—recommended by friends who own property here—exceeded expectations. We were married on the beach at sunset, and Nevis will forever hold a very special place in our hearts.

Every Last Detail

Marriage License Information

Nevis makes it almost effortless to say “I do,” with just a few requirements to obtain a marriage license for a legally binding ceremony.

  • Marriage license application forms must be completed in the presence of a Justice of the Peace. These forms are available from the Nevis Island Administration’s Legal Department.
  • Both parties must have a valid passport or birth certificate with photo ID.
  • If the applicants have never been married, an affidavit (confirming their single status) is required. This can be obtained from a Notary Public in the couples’ home country, or from a Notary Public on Nevis.
  • If either party is a widow or widower, copies of the death certificate of the deceased spouse must be presented.
  • If either party is divorced, an original or notarized copy of the Decree Absolute must be presented. If it is not in English, a notarized translation will be required.
Timeline Requirements

Associated Fees

  • The Marriage License application form is a cost of US $20 or EC $50.
  • There is a Marriage License fee of US $80 or EC $200.
  • If services are required of a Notary Public, there is an approximate fee of US $20 or EC $50.
  • The Justice of the Peace may also assess a fee.
Catholic Ceremonies

If the marriage is to take place in a Roman Catholic Church, the home priest must provide a letter verifying that the couple is unmarried, and that they have received the necessary instructions.

Other Religious Ceremonies

If a non-Catholic minister will be conducting the ceremony, it must take place in the couples’ respective church. Both parties must have a letter from their home ministers or priests verifying that they are known and unmarried.
