NEVIS NAMED AS ONE OF WORLD’S 20 MOST ROMANTIC ISLANDS BY CONDÉ NAST TRAVELER READER’S CHOICE AWARDS

Which Further Strengthens Nevis’ Position as Most Romantic Destination in the Caribbean

Charlestown, Nevis, February 5, 2016 – Nevis, the greenest gem in the world, has just been named as one of the 20 Most Romantic Islands in the World by Condé Nast Traveler Reader’s Choice Awards. More than 128,000 travelers took part in their 28th annual Reader’s Choice Awards survey in 2015 – the most in its history, proving even further the merit of this acknowledgement. Nevis is known throughout the travel community for its genuine uniqueness and authenticity, from lush topiary to intimate beaches to a truly relaxed and ‘unplugged’ atmosphere making it an ideal romantic destination. Nevis has been recognized for just this with USA Today naming Nevis the ‘Best Romantic Caribbean Island,’ and topping Caribbean Journal’s list of ‘Most Romantic Caribbean Islands.’ The Reader’s Choice Award further cements Nevis’ position as being the most romantic destination not only in the Caribbean, but world.

Nevis is perfect for those looking for a step-change in pace, where they can truly relax, unwind and enjoy a peaceful experience. Visitors can expect an island filled with rich nature from rainforests to precocious vervet monkeys running around the roads, to beautiful and intimate beaches that are ideal for walks, horse-back riding or just relaxing and enjoying the view. Even though Nevis is a small island, it offers a full portfolio of beloved and award-winning properties for guests to choose from. As Condé Nast Traveler summarized, “Aside from the famous Four Seasons on equally famous Pinney’s Beach, we can’t get enough of Montpelier Plantation & Beach. Our readers agree – they voted it the third-best resort in the entire Caribbean.” This is in addition, of course, to the other popular properties: Nisbet Plantation & Beach Club, Paradise Beach, Hermitage Inn, Oualie Beach Resort, Mount Nevis and Golden Rock Plantation Inn with each presenting their unique charms and intimacy with less than 30 rooms, allowing for maximum privacy.

“We are incredibly proud of this recognition from Condé Nast Traveler readers as it is a true sign of Nevis’ reputation and standard of service in the travel community,” CEO of the Nevis Tourism Authority, Greg B. Phillip stated, “With more than 128,000 people voting for destinations from across the world, being named as one of the Most Romantic Islands in the World is an amazing achievement for our small but wonderful island. We continually strive to provide all of our visitors the experience of a lifetime, and are happy to see this hard work recognized. This is a fantastic start to 2016 and look forward to further strengthening our position as the destination of choice throughout the year.”
